Starting January 1, 2012, we will be paying for articles we commission and publish on CADdigest.com. The amount will depend on it s value to the reader, the amount of work involved in writing it, and other factors. A transcript of an interview, on the other hand, may take much less work and so, the compensation would be much less.
In short, don't expect to get rich but we hope to be able to give authors some money for their time and expertise.

This varies by product. A lot of software you review you can keep, but some may be time limited and expire after some time, say 60 days. Small hardware (like input devices) may be given to the reviewer as a perk but most hardware is expensive and must be returned to vendor after a reasonable time.
