Angus is a licensed land surveyor who has been writing about infrastructure fulltime since 2004. As a surveyor, he worked in ten states including California, Idaho, Kentucky, and Wisconsin, for a variety of firms including small boundary firms and gas line monitoring and repair crews. He concluded his 18 year surveying career with an 8-year stint as survey manager for an ENR 400 consulting firm with nine Midwest offices.

Since then, Angus has written several hundred case studies and white papers for iconic infrastructure firms like Trimble Navigation, Leica Geosystems, Bentley Systems, Autodesk, Schonstedt Instruments, and Berntsen International and articles by him appear regularly in about three dozen infrastructure trade journals. He has been a contributing editor for The American Surveyor.
