AutoCAD 2004 Customization Tutorial: Open and
Save Settings

The Open and Save tab in Options dialog box consists of a
few useful tools and options. Let's check out some of them.
1. Invoke OPTIONS.
2. Select Open and Save tab [Figure 1].

3. In Minutes between saves box, type 40. An automatic
saved version of the drawing files will be created every 40
minutes. The SAVEFILEPATH system variable specifies the location
of automatic created files.
4. In edit box of File Open section, type 8.
5. Click Apply. From now on you will see up to 8 recently opened
files in the File menu.
6. In File Safety Precautions section, click Security Options.
The Security Options dialog box appears [Figure 2].

7. In Digital Signature tab you can select "Attach digital
signature after saving drawing" to attach a digital signature to
the current drawing file.

8. Click Password tab [Figure 3]. Here you can assign a password
to the current drawing file. You can disable this feature as it
can put you into trouble. If you forget the password you will
not be able to open the drawing file. To learn how to disable

9. Click Cancel.
10. In Options dialog box click OK.
