Autodesk announced record quarterly revenues of
$457 million for its fiscal 2007 quarter which ended October 31,
2006. The results fell near the top end of guidance given at the
end of the previous quarter. Autodesk said the strong
performance was led by sales of 3D software and its various
media and entertainment division products, and was above
consensus analyst expectations. Autodesk stock rose 9% the day
after the announcement, closing November 24 at $41.58. Initial
guidance from the company is that it expects to top the $2
billion revenue milestone in fiscal 2008.

Revit and Civil 3D made strong showings among Autodesk's design
verticals; combined revenue for these model-based products
increased 36 percent year-over, to a record $96 million. Total
3D product revenues were 22 percent of total revenue.
The 3D products are healthy, but 2D is still selling well.
During the quarter, the installed base of AutoCAD users broke
the 4 million mark. Mechanical Desktop sold 93,000 copies.
Revenue from new seats of AutoCAD increased by
24 percent year-over. However, this quarter's report did not
include earnings disclosures, as Autodesk continues its
voluntary review of its historical stock option granting
practices.
