Revenue for the fiscal year was $1.84 billion.
Autodesk hit $1 billion in revenue for the first time only two
fiscal years ago. At the current pace of growth (a realistic
assumption), Autodesk will double its revenue in a four-year
period, topping $2 billion.
Autodesk CEO Carl Bass sited a variety of factors
contributing to both the record revenues and his sense of
optimism about the coming year:
- Adoption of Autodesk Media and Entertainment Linux-based
products is growing
- Business in Japan is “stabilizing”
- Annual product retirements “now less significant” as a
driver of revenue
- Demand from new seats and from emerging economies will
be 2/3 of revenue in the future
- Less than 15% of existing users have migrated to 3D
- Subscription revenue continues to grow
Revenues from emerging economies in Asia Pacific, Eastern
Europe, the Middle East and Latin America was $75 million in the
quarter, an increase of 44% year-over, representing 15% of total
revenue in the fourth quarter.
Maintenance revenues from subscription increased
53% year-over, to $123 million or 25% of total revenues.
