AutoCAD 2004 Customization Tutorial: Slide
Libraries

Slide libraries are collections of slides. Slidelib is an
external utility that can create a slide library based on a list
of slides. The list of slides should be saved as a text file.
Slidelib is automatically installed during the AutoCAD
installation.
If you are not familiar with AutoCAD slides
and/or scripts read any of the the relevant tutorial listed
below before proceeding:
1.
Download the following slides:

Slide01.sld
►
Slide02.sld
►
Slide03.sld
2.
Save the slides in root directory of drive C: (i.e. C:\).
3. Use
the Windows Search utility to locate the "Slidelib.exe". It
should be located in AutoCAD 2004 folder [Figure 1].

Copy the file to C:\.
5.
Start AutoCAD 2004.
6. In
command line enter SHELL and then press Enter. The ***AutoCAD
Shell Active*** window appears [Figure 2].

7. In
the Shell Active window type cd\ and then press Enter.
8. In
C:\> prompt type dir *.sld/b>slidelist and then press
Enter [Figure 3]. This will create a slide list file based on
all the slides on C:\. The file is called slidelist.

Invoke "Slidelib.exe" to build the slide library [Figure 4]. The
general syntax for using Slidelib is:
Slidelib slide_library_file_name < slide_list_file

Type exit and then press enter to exit the Shell Active
window.

Use the Windows Explorer to delete slide files (i.e.
Slide01.sld, Slide02.sld, and Slide03.sld).
12.
With Windows Explorer copy "Slidelib.slb" to a folder that
belongs to AutoCAD file search path.
Note: If you are not familiar with AutoCAD Search Path
please read the following tutorial:
13. In
AutoCAD command line enter Notepad and then press Enter twice.
The Notepad window appears.
14. In
Notepad window enter the proper text [Figure 5].

Save the file as "sldshow.scr" in a folder that belongs to
AutoCAD file search path.
16. In
AutoCAD command line type SCR and then press Enter.
17.
Locate and open "sldshow.scr". The slide show begins.
18.
Press Esc to exit the slide show.
19.
Invoke REGEN to remove the current slide from screen.
