CAD SYSTEMS Magazine Bows OutCanadian CAD magazine another casualty of tight marketUpdated 2/27/02 Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, Feb 25, 2002 - CLB Media, which recently bought CAD SYSTEMS from Kerrwil Publications Limited, has decided to suspend publication of CAD SYSTEMS. CAD SYSTEMS was published 6 times per year for the MCAD and AEC marketplace and had a circulation of 18,000+ in Canada. During 2001, the number of issues was reduced to 4 focusing exclusively on MCAD market. Revenues had declined over 50% in the past year. In a tabloid format, CAD SYSTEMS was launched in 1991 as a hybrid of two magazine sized publications - CAD/CAM & Robotics (est. in 1983) and AEC Canada (est. in 1989). Karen Dalton, editor of CAD SYSTEMS for 6 years from July 1995 until December 2001 will pursue new custom publishing initiatives and continue with other communication projects CAE magazine, also serving CAD interests, stopped its monthly issues late last year and aims to come out quarterly (see CAE Monthly Magazine To Close). Kerrwil Publications Limited the following trade magazine titles to CLB Media Inc. in a deal which closed January 24, 2002: CAD SYSTEMS, Electrical Business, Manufacturing Automation, Lighting, Structured Cabling and Magazine Electrotechnologies. Kerrwil retained Canadian Yachting magazine.
