Simulation and analysis software maker ANSYS, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANSS)
this week reported a strong second quarter that suggests last year’s
acquisition of Fluent has been a success. Total revenue for the second
fiscal quarter of 2007, ended June 30, was $92.2 million, up from $62.2
million year-over. Software Licenses revenue was $59.4 million, up from
$34.7 million the same quarter in 2006.

Net income was $18.3 million, compared to a net loss of $19.4 million
year-over. Maintenance and service revenue was $32.7 million, compared
with $27.5 million.
Operating expenses were $42.8 million in the quarter, compared with
$63.3 million a year ago. It was during the second quarter of 2006 that
ANSYS acquired Fluent.
